Are Superheroes Similar to Religious Figures?
For the most part all around the world, people believe in some sort of religion or a powerful person. Also, a lot of people know about superheroes and hold the creators of the movies to high standards of keeping those heroes looking like great people that do good things for their homes.
If you compare the two side by side they are pretty similar. They are similar because they both have followers that look up to each of them and they both groups that follow, for the most part, know about either the religion or the superheroes story. They are also similar because they play important roles in people's lives such as for church you take time each week to go so you have to be dedicated to it and you are willing to do those things to change your lives. Superheroes play an important role because it may be something that they buy things such as shirts or posters to support the movie or hero which also takes time and money from your life.
Say a bit more about the commercial role of superheroes. Can you connect that to the ways religion functions in people's lives? This is an excellent sub-topic about which I hope you will explore more.
ReplyDeleteWhy, furthermore, do people need heroes? You'll get to explore that in the formal paper coming up soon. I look forward to reading more!
