Rel-Con

I think that Rel-Con has to be something big and exciting, something people walk by and want to be apart of. Advertising the event has a big role in that. We need posters, emails, announcements. If we email the whole student body we need to get more than one email out there. We need a few to remind them of the event we are having. Rel-Con has to be fun and engaging but also educational. We need to get students there and the one thing that will get students attention is free food. If we're doing just a table in Dunham, a bowl of candy or a small bag of chips/popcorn will work. If we're doing something big we need something more. Something that makes it worth students to leave their dorm and come hangout with us and learn how religion is shown through film. Something like pizza or cake can result in a higher turn out. We can even hand out items that are not food related, things like bracelets or key chains, etc. The key thing is that these items need to be free. For the event I think we need several posters about different movies and how they relate to religion, music that is engaging but also related to our ideas. We need things that make us stand out, if we're doing it by the spartan statue, maybe we put a red cape on him then have balloons by our table. We can do a little poll at the event about which superhero is the "Best" superhero.
